Hi, I’m Joe. I’m passionate about understanding what is true and how things actually work. I’m a husband, father, pianist, and tech professional.
Music, technology, and history are the things I’m most interested in, and I enjoy hashing out how the three always seem to collide.
What I’m working on
I’m worried about humans losing the ability to think critically, reason through problems, and break free from ideologies that keep us from thinking the way we were designed to. That’s why I’m building tools, sharing my ideas, and having conversations to help others on the same journey I’m on: reading a lot, thinking with clarity, and understanding the world in ways they didn’t teach us in school.
Core ideas
I think every person should get a grasp on mathematics, biology, physics, and history. We learn who we are and what we’re about as a byproduct of understanding these things, because only when we understand our world can we really understand our God-given place in it.
I believe in the God of the Bible and his Son, Jesus Christ. I also believe God wrote two books, the Bible and nature. The two don’t contradict each other; each informs how I interpret the other.
What I do
In my day job I’m a cybersecurity and systems engineer, and I do the kind of work where uptime, identity, and a hardened infrastructure are the difference between a good week and a terrible month. I founded Pinnacle IT in 2021 to help businesses and government entities keep their uptime high and cyber incidents unlikely.
I’m also a pianist and a full-on music enthusiast, and I’m pretty passionate about that.
What you’ll find here
Essays, notes, and developing thoughts, shared in real time while I’m still working through them. I hope some of it helps other people.
That’s all. Glad you’re here.
